The second novel was more fun than the first and I found myself looking forward to reading the third in anticipation of what's to come. I loved all the characters and their unique circumstances. Even though the plot resolved things nicely, the sequel just kept me wanting more.
In the third novel, Paul and Alex undertake an assignment to find what is the key to eternal life. They succeed in their quest only to face a new enemy and the mystical forces they were trying to destroy were standing in their way. The writers created a good suspense tale and kept me interested in how the story was resolved. Mystic Messenger is not a story that will make you bored, but it does entertain.

People with experience reading the first two books may find the story too difficult to follow. However, most readers will have no problem following this series because they are engrossed in each of the books.

My favorite book in the series is "The Deep." I enjoyed reading it because it was different from the other books in the series. None of the previous books in the series were set in modern times or involved time travel. This one was a refreshing look into a new era for the series. It took me a while to get past the first couple of chapters, but once I got over that "twist" I was hooked.
